We're gone for the week with some awesome digs at a hotel in Canmore and we think we're pretty much set on what to bring and what do work on while training. We'll be heading there the week before May Long Weekend, so we're expecting cooler than normal weather. Our winter gear will be packed just in case and we expect to run into some snow along the roads here and there. We'll be cycling at around 1,350m (4,430 ft) to 1,480 m (4,856 ft) through the mountains. Hill training and O2 training are the obvious goals here, and well, the other aim is to just enjoy the ride. A giant checklist of spare parts, food, supplies, etc has already been made and we'll be the only two riders out there without any support vehicles or anything. Home base, as mentioned earlier, will be situated in our awesome hotel in Canmore. That being said, I'm still curious to know if anyone out there has done any of these sort of training trips and have any good tips/tricks/suggestions to point out. Or hell, if anyone has any stories they'd like to share, go for it! We'll also be documenting the trip with some GoPro camera gear, for some great video and photos of the trip (as well as cycling data off the Garmin Edge 500's) When we're back and have everything sorted out, I'll be sure to post some training highlights and crap here. Note: This isn't a touring trip.
