Well, the dumbest was a trenta (barf) iced coffee with 4 add shots 16 count 'em 16 pumps of white mocha (6 in a venti usually) 6 pumps of vanilla, and then she bitched that we don't have trenta dome lids because she wants whipped cream. So we put whip in it anyway with a flat lid. But she freaks out that I have to charge her for all of the modifiers when it's just a trenta coffee refill that would be $.55 and tells me shes trying to lose weight. I'm thinking "BITCH YOU ON THE WRONG TRAIN", but I had to deal with her respectfully. If that story made any sense... I'll be honest I'm pretty toasted. [How busy does it get? Is it true about the crushed bugs thing in one of the drinks? What is really interesting is that you will see that white tourists see the line, and if its too long out the door they just scowl and walk away, maybe to return when the line is shorter. But the asian tourists just keep on coming. They will wait for longer than an hour! I had a theory about the point of a queue that makes it too long for people to join, but damn, those asians will wait in any line. I believe that. |I am not aware of crushed bugs in any drinks. Read all about it!!** |I used to work at a drive through store in central coast california. It was great, and the headsets were fun, but we made so many iced drinks all the time. So we had a ton of regulars, and many of them were what I call "Keeple" (phonetically) which is a Car Person (quick aside, so you know what I mean. You know that friend you have whose mom owns a minivan or a suburban and you feel like you have only ever seen her in the car, sitting in your high school parking lot with the window down chatting with their child's friends. They are never seen out of the car and the car is like their hover round. They spend their lives in the car reading romance novels and ferrying kids back and forth, using at as a big, expensive wheel chair? Those are called "Car Moms" and everyone has a friend with a car mom) |Back to the story, we had a kerson who had a dog. And this is weird. So she had the breasts. Actually. Shit. I don't know where to start on this lady. So she did meth for sure, and was shaped like an orange. She must have had 5 teeth and these breasts. Oh god these breasts. They were always covered up, thank god, but they made this perfect little bed. For her fucking dog. The dog lied on this woman's tits! It was crazy. While she drove! So she pulls up every day, dog on tit, and orders a "Trenta Green Tea with 4 honey no classic light ice and you can keep the lid this time". But we have to give her a lid so I'm ringing her up and hand her the drink and she starts telling me about her day. I was not paying her any attention but I notice her take off the lid, toss it in the back seat, and hold up the tea. And the fucking dog laps up the tea. It drank it. Then, she drank the same god damn tea. It was fucked. I will never forget that. Oh god. Mexican, sub par. I lived in wine country CA and we had hella mexican food. This shit aint even close. I miss good mexican, but the asian so makes up for it. Pho, thai, anything you want. Lots of good indian too. [How often does Howard Shultz visit your store? Do you get paid above minimum wage? What are tips like for you on a weekly basis? The minimum wage is like $9.25 here which is the highest in the whole country. I was making a joke, and I don't think it's too high. But I do not like inflation. And I REALLY hate stagflation. It's awesome and customers like when we throw a stack of 12. Then we have a line of the cups. ANSWER TIME! We have 4 big ones on milk side, and are allowed to steam for multiple drinks at a time. And 6 small on shot side. Shot side steams soy, apple juice, and GRTLs. So no, as many drinks as a pitcher can fit. You are allowed to steam 2% xhot for 3 drinks when only 1 is xhot. Then use it when it is cool enough, which doesn't take too long. Nope! We don't sell any RTD&E (ready to drink and eat, for nubes). No muffins or sandwiches, and certainly no oven here. We have a deal with the market, because if we sold the,, customers would rather shop at our store than the many awesome bakeries of the market. Pear and Le Panier are right next to us. Piroshky Piroshky and Mee Sum Pastry and close too. Really great little places to get a bite to eat. Also fuck oven cleaning. 60 minutes to cool down. Bull shit. One thing is that we ALWAYS will ask where you are from. We all want to know, legitimately. We all ask everyone about their town and talk about them a lot. We are good listeners.
