Follow related website bookmark from Reddit: Need advice on shooting a wedding (video) This Saturday I'll be doing videography for a wedding for the first time. I want to list what equipment I have and then get some advice on how best to use it. I have: * 2 Panasonic camcorders. They are Panasonic HDC-TM900K. These are about the best camcorders you can get at a high-end consumer level. * 1 Canon 7D with a Tamron 17-50mm lens with IS. * 1 Zoom H4n recorder. * 1 Sennheiser wireless lav mic and receiver. * 1 Sennheiser wireless handheld mic (to pair with the receiver listed above). * A decent light for low-light situations. Now this is my first wedding. Obviously I don't have pro equipment yet. But I can get decent results with this. I just don't know how best to approach it. The main difficulty I'm having is that if I use the camcorders, I can input the mic audio directly into the camcorder and not have to sync it later. I am definitely going to use two camcorders for the ceremony, because I'm not taking chances with that. So what about everything else, where there's a bit less pressure? Interviews, cutting the cake, stuff like that. I'd like to use the 7D, because I feel I'll get better video, but I don't trust the 7D to do well enough with the audio. So if I use it, I'm going to have to feed the mic audio to the Zoom and then sync it later, which I feel could be a significant pain in the ass. One other thing, which may not matter: I'm going to be editing this most like with Final Cut Express 4. I do own Final Cut Studio X, but I'm not comfortable enough with it yet to attempt editing a wedding. I do know it supposedly does well with syncing audio and video, but I've yet to get it to work reliably. I'll probably stick with FCE4 just because I'm fairly comfortable with it. Any advice? **EDIT:** Thanks for the first couple replies, but I don't need advice on how to actually shoot the wedding. While we haven't done weddings before, we have done similar events. We've already met with the couple and gone over all the details. I just need some advice on the technical aspects now. Truthfully I could just leave the 7D at home and do fine, but if there are extreme advantages to using it (despite added difficulties), that's what I'm looking to hear. more Related hdc tm900k videos 2012-05-21:
