A few minutes later my mother rang me asking if i would like to come over for dinner, so i said yes as i had no other plans. Now i have 3 doors, 2 at the back and one at the front. I dont usually lock the 2 back doors because they lead to the garden, and its pretty hard to get into the garden without using the front door first, so i left the light on so it looked like i was at home and i wouldnt get burgled (i live in a bad area) and locked the front door. I stayed at my mothers for a few hours and then i left at around 7pm-ish. When i got home the light i had left on in the hallway was off, i tried switching it on but it wouldnt, so there must've been a powercut while i was gone. Im not good with electrics, so i gave my boyfriend Dan a call (names changed to protect identity) . He said hed be over in 15 minutes so i started searching for a torch, i went into the kitchen because that is where i last remember leaving it. i couldnt find it so i was about to go into the sitting room to search for it when i saw a shadow walk past. My heart was beating so hard, that was probably the scariest moment in my life. I tiptoed into the kitchen and grabbed a knife, holding it tight in my sweaty palms. Then the door rang, which meant walking past the sitting room, so i slowly walked past, terrified and opened the door, thank god it was dan. I told him there was someone in the sitting room and we went in with his torch, but there was no one there, maybe i imagined it, but it was so real, a man walking past. I dont know who it was or why it was there, and i guess i never will. So far i havent had another powercut, but Dan did on thursday, and he saw a shadow in his bedroom .__. Add: Ive had a few other creepy things happen too; 1. taps start dripping (only little drops) of water randomly. 2. things falling off the table randomly 3. lights flickering randomly 4. One of the leaders of Hawaii's local farm movement is Paul Johnston. Johnston, who along with his wife an Sanderson, and ans sister Betsy Sanderson, runs theanic Kekela Farms. Johnston, a doctor in his previ life, migrated to the Big Islandom the East Coast. When he first arrived on the island, he worked full time as an OB-GYN. It was only about three years ago that they turned to farming full time. In an interview with Marin Magazine, given earlier this Fall, Johnston noted, "Growing food, and preparing food is an act of love. So for me [farming] is not too farom medicine. The produce grown at Kekela Farms is t spectacular. Johnston utilizes the windward side weather to grow a full spectrum of crops,om lettuces and other greens, to root vegetables, chile peppers, squash, beans, onions and herbs. Of the Waimea climate, Johnston told Marin Magazine, [i]ts like a perpetual New England fall, some days its September, and others it can be November. The key thing we do here in Hawaii that doesnt happen in many other places [bece of the weather] is succession planting, which keeps y 365 days a year.
