I had used a Costco members discount and coupon to have a 4 day medium sized car rental for $65 all in (sun-wed). We got all the papers, and head up to the garage. All the medium cars were gone so we were told to pick any full size cars. U simply pick the car and drive off show the paper work when leaving the garage and u are good to go. I?ve also heard of stories saying that tip the garage clerk $10-$20 and they will upgrade u there, depending on the stock. http://www.costcotravel.com/#11_rentalCars Then we drove to Planet Hollywood Westgate, which are essentially condos in a hotel. I had rented a 1br suite, for about $85/night. And was gorgeous. I had told them it was a special occasion and they gave me a high floor room, with a great view. The room itself has a full working kitchen with stanless steel appliances, a large living room with pull out couch and projection tv. Also king bed with Jacuzzi beside, and washroom has washer and dryer in it. http://www.phtowers.com/accommodations/one_bed.asp We got changed and drove to Hoover dam, which was about 50mins away, and the drive although mostly desert was still pretty nice, especially closer to the Dam. Parking was $6-7/car, and we walked around for about 30-45min, taking pics. Once we found it, it?s a great small little town on the edge of a lake. Looks like a small Mexican/European town, with lots of small shops and restaurants and coffee places. Theres also a nice pier. I had booked a 3-course gondola dinner ride for 2 for 90mins. Cost about $320 and I had used a $50 restaurant.com dining voucher. We simply walked up to the gondola, and the gondiler sat us down opened the champagne and poured us glasses, and then went to get our food, that I had to pre-order when I bought the tickets. Once we had the food we took off. The lake was beautiful and nobody else around, no noise, no wakes in water, just calm. The gondola also played great music like the crooners, that the fiancée loved. I timed it around sunset so we got both the light and night versions. Once we finished our desert, we came to one of the resorts, and the gondlier had mentions that the resort opened a couple of years ago, and sometimes tosses bottles into the lake with special prizes. The fiancée happened to find one, open it and read the message that I had prepared before, asking for marriage. She said yes. She had placed rose petals, and candle lights around the tub, had some flowers in a vase, balloons and more champagne. Was a nice surprise to walk back to. And she had done a pretty good job. Next morning we woke up early and went to Hash house a Go Go, and place was amazing. I had bought a $10 gift certificate from restaurant.com. portions were pretty big, and breakfast pretty dam good. I ordered some kinda fried chicken Benedict. (I bought through a 3rd party, not the website) It included, hotel pick up, flight to grand canyon, and a bus tour around the canyon with 2 different stops, and flight back. Also had a big boxed lunch. I had some issues about them cancelling/overbooking various flight a couple of different times. But once on the flight and tour, I think it was well put together, and only way to see the grand canyon from vegas. Stupid to drive 6 hrs there and back. Spend the extra for a quick flight. I had bought tickets from the discount ticket booths. For $4, we saved $10/per person. So instead of $40 it was $30 for the seafood buffet. We had seen O before, and although it was not as good. Was still a very good show. I bought spalshzone tickets so we were in the second row, and I admit we got a couple of drops of water, but no way near soaked, and was a great view. The wynn theatre is well designed in that all seats are great. But I was able to save some money sitting in splashzone. Meeting time was 5:50am. So pretty early. We then taken to the departure spot, and watch/help as they set up the balloon from the back of the truck. I had bought a dealfind/wagjag voucher for 2, and was about $75/per person. Flight last about 45-60mins. Great overall experience, our balloon had 6 people +1 pilot. So pretty intimate. Once we landed, there was some snacks and champagne. They only have sunrise tours because of the heat during the daytime. Also because of the hot air, it gets pretty warm up in the air. I had made reservations before, and was seated right away, right by the window, in which we had a great view of the bellagio fountains and paris balloon. We decided to splurge and chose the 6-course tasting menu. For $99/per person. Portion sizes were VERY small, but all dishes were great. By the end, I was fully satisfied with the dinner. Only note that I was not told, but that dinner at the restaurant does not give u access to the top of the Eiffel tower which I was told I would.
