My dream MLP game, and your own. (TL;DR in comments...seriously, it's that long.)
With great fan made games for My little pony on the horizion like fighting is magic, and MLP online...i've been coming up with ideas for my own MLP game. Though, they're only ideas, since i lack...you know, any sort of skills required to make a game. Still, it's been fun just coming up with ideas. I'm sure there are many of you out there that've done the same...so, i'd like to hear what your dream MLP game would be! It can be anything: An RPG, puzzle game, first person shooter, dating sim, whatever you want, i just like hearing your ideas. Just tell me what elements of gameplay you'd like to implement, perhaps a bit of the plot, or what have you. Here's my idea to get started, this is really long since i put a lot of thought into it (i have too much time on my hands), so there will be a TL;DR list in the comments section: Let's start with gameplay. I'd like to have an arcade 2D side scrolling beat'em up...like river city ransom, scott pilgrim, or turtles in time. Also, an RPG level up system...nothing major, perhaps just gaining experience and putting them in a skill tree to gain more moves or increasing attack damage and/or health. (The level cap is around 30 or so). Personalized finishers for each pony, you know, like a super attack. For example Rainbow's would of course be a sonic rainboom, which kills all enemies on screen. It uses a charge bar (or power bar), which increases as you take and deal damage. Basically, it's each pony's rage. 3 super forms (and a fourth one i'll talk about in a bit) for each pony, changing their moves and over all making them more powerful. Let's use pinkie pie for an example. Her first form is her regular form...then her second form is her pshyco-pinkie side...her final form IS MECHA PINKIE! A giant robotic pinkie pie capable of explosive amounts of damage. These forms have to be unlocked via the skill tree, as well as the super attacks. Multiplayer will, for sure, be present. Both online and local, being able to control each of the mane six (backround characters, aswell, considering the unlocking requirements are met.) with drop in/drop out support through out the main story line. For extra modes, there's an acrade mode with minigames like wave-mode, king of the hill, capture the flag, race, gem-collecting, and more. There's an unlockable side story with the Cutie Mark Crusaders through their own shorter storyline, which coincides with the main story (Sadly, this one is only 3 players...being only able to control the CMC's). Even a dedicated verses mode, allowing you and your friends to duke it out in a simple death mach. Ensuring there's a lot to do, even after you finish the game! Now, time for the story. The story begins with you and your friends attending the grand galloping gala. It seems everything is peaceful In the ballroom, you and your friends are seen dancing, talking, causing shenanigans, playing instruments, all depending on who you chose. Suddenly, a loud crashing sound can be heard. Screams of terrified ponies echo through halls. everyone rushes to investigate. You then discover the source of the sound, standing before you is the most terrifying sight your eyes have ever beheld! A large, wolf like creature, eyes silk white and body covered in mists of black. His coat is a silk black, covered by a dark blue cape, on it is a star outline of Canis Major. He starts to talk "I see the party started without me. Is that any way to treat your new ruler?". A royal guard, standing beside you and your group, retorts "New ruler? We only serve her majesty, Princess celestia, you vile creature!". The creature reaches out to the guard, his dark tendrils grab him, and bring him an inch away from his face "How dare you speak to me in such a tone, worm!" He lets out a roar and throws the guard out the nearby window. He then turns, back to the terrifed crowd of onlookers. He adresses them once again. "Perhaps, you pitiful equines do not know who you're dealing with. I am Cyon! I've traveled the endless cosmos, conquring every planet and star system in the known universe! However, how am i to be a ruler of a mighty empire, without a throne to sit on...and a bride to rule beside me? I descovered this peaceful place, and deemed it worthy of my throne! And your princess..." He reaches a mighty claw into the air, at which seven mighty tendrils break through the roof of the palace. A few momments later, one of the tendrils of darkness reappears by it's master's side, with celestia in it's clutches! "...a perfect bride" He let's out a bone-chilling maniacal laugh. Celestia struggles and shouts "YOU DEPRAVED CREATURE! UNHAND ME AT ONCE! Or i'll be forced to". Cyon inturrupts "You'll what? Use the elements of harmony...already a step ahead of you!" the six remaining tendrils snap back to cyon, revealing that it has the elements of harmony! "Do you really think these pitiful trinkets are enough to stop me?" He then extends his remaining tendrils down to the floor, propelling him through the celing...he whips the mighty tendrils in different directions, sending the elements of harmony flying across the globe. He then relaxes the tendrils, and falls back down into the palace. "Now that THAT's taken care of...we have a wedding to plan..." His tendrils wrapped around them both, conciling them in a cacoon...then in an explosion of thick black smoke...they where gone. This is where you start your quest, you must locate the elements of harmony, and use them to save the princess from the evil ruler Cyon before he marries the princess...and is crowned ruler of equestria. The enemies vary, and most are dirctly from the show, as well as a few i came up with. For minions and small enemies, there are: Diamond dogs, timber wolves, zombie ponies, dragons, manticores, griffons, Dark welps (they look like Imps, and fly like 'em too.), [Taxippusi](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taraxippus)(in my head, they look like Floating green ghost-type creatures, with a lighter green face that facial movements resemble that of a [Rorschach test](http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b74tWCXZRas/Tf3rJQBOvtI/AAAAAAAAAMU/PW-n8SLCC7M/s1600/rorschach.jpg)...and that's only scratching the surface. For bosses, most of the villians make a return...A chaos infested duo of trixie and gilda, discord, nightmare moon, the three main diamond dogs, the hydra, the dragon from the episode "dragonshy"...and a hidden secret bossfight with the windigos which is the hardest bossfight, even harder then the final bossfight with cyon (Think Culex from super mario RPG, or seperoith from kingdom hearts.) As for locations...well, it'll span mostly those that are known in the show. There's towns/cities/residences where you can buy food/potions that heal you and different costumes for each character using the bits you collect from slain enemies or by doing jobs (These jobs are simple small minigames...like applebucking and stuff of that nature). You can also talk to the random citizens of the town if you so choose. They just give you hints or talk about the news. With the shorter CMC storyline that is avalible after beating the main story: The girls are sitting in their clubhouse, bored our of their skulls...They're completely out of ideas on how to get their cutiemarks. That is, until dinky bursts through their door. She asks the CMC's if they can look for her mom...she was late to pick her up from her relitive's place after the gala and she's worried. See, recently, the CMCs opened up a dectective agency...however, they forgot about it up to this point because no one responded to their flyers...till now it seems. Now, it's up to the CMC's to find out where in the world derpy is, and maybe...even get their cutie marks! Oh, and about that fourth form...this will come into play while fighting cyon...it's a temporary form that comes from using the elements of harmony during the battle...it acts like a permanent 3rd form in terms of damage...but it's look is completely different.
