So here's the story: we had been together for two years and I decided to give him a special gift. Stupid, I know, but I was young at the time and I thought I would remain with him forever and that he would never, ever share the pictures. I was very naive. A couple of months later, I realized he was an abusive jerk (he flipped out one day because he saw me talking to another man) and that the relationship, to him, was only sex.
I was 17 at the time the photos were taken. I lied to the police officer and told him I was 18 because I could have gotten into trouble myself. An officer even told me I could have been charged with possession and creation of child pornography and become ** a registred sex offender for life**. So yes, this stuff is pretty serious.
After we broke up, he made all kind of pleas over the phone. He cried, told me he loved me and promised he would change. When that didn't work, he threatened to release the pictures to everyone in the school unless we got back together. I was terribly afraid and realize I should have gone to the police immediately. I was even more stupid and for a while, he and I dated. I hoped to earn some time, and maybe chance his view and chances.
When it didn't work, he began by sending the photos to his friends, then to my friends. This is the moment I went to the police. They were to their credit extremely quick to act and even confiscated his computer. Then, my photos got posted onto a popular website and this is where hell began. I couldn't sleep, I was always stressed, I was afraid of strangers and always wondered whether or not they had seen the pictures.
It has been over a year now and the situation was handled very professionally. For those who wonder, he was charged, and accepted a plea on a misdemeanor . He got probation, a fine, and some community work. That's it. This guy basically ruined my life - although I had a part of responsability, which I accepted - and can now walk freely. Since then, I haven't really spoke to him, maybe a few "hi" there and here.
