Follow related website bookmark from Reddit: Need advice: 18 year old cousin was hit by car. We have 1 week to appeal insurance company's decision... Several months ago, my 18 year old cousin was in a car accident which nearly took her life. Thankfully, she survived, but suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as a result. This means that she entered into a coma and is only recently starting to interact with the world outside the bounds of her head. She has been at an acute rehabilitation center, which offers top-of-the-line occupational, physical, speech therapy. Though the steps have been small, she has been making progress: her CRS score fluctuates around 12?which doesn?t really mean a whole lot to most of us, but from what I gather she can respond to commands such as ?move your right foot?, ?blink twice if your sister is in the room?, so we know she?s still in there, especially since she couldn?t even breathe for herself a few months ago! Here?s the problem: my family?s insurance company says that they will not pay for her to stay at the Acute Care Facility because the rate of her improvement has slowed. They want to put her in a Sub-Acute Care Facility, which is essentially a nursing home, where they will not be able to offer her nearly the same amount of resources or attention as her current facility. We have one week to formulate an appeal to this decision, so if anyone out there knows anything about this stuff/dealing with insurance companies, it would be wonderful if you could offer some insight. We basically have to prove that moving her to a nursing home will be detrimental to her progress of recovery from the TBI. Any PubMed articles or case studies you folks may know of to support this will be extremely helpful. Thanks so much for your help, Reddit community! tl;dr ? need help convincing insurance company that my 18 year old cousin needs the attention and expertise of an acute care facility to make her recovery possible. more Related therapy rehabilitation videos 2012-05-23:

New Release is.gd tomer Reviews: "This is a great piece of exercise equipment, once you learn how toe it safely. It really works the legs in a side to side motion that is easy on the joints, and I believe very good for leg strengthening. In only a minute you will start to feel the burn in your legs. You might feel a little difort in your lower back, but that only tells you that you need to work it out more. I rmend the five finger shoes to go with it. All you need to remember is to keep the weight on the inside of each foot as you sway back and forth. Then you will keep your center of gravity over the center of the board. If you et that, you can easily lose your balance and fall off, which can be danger. You can alsoe hand weights such as "Heavy Hands", and when you take a 20 second break, work the arms with the hand weights. For a person with a couple of knee surgeries, I find this product is excellent. And it's fun, easy to move, and feels great. t be careful to go slowly at first until you learn the correct balance. But like anything, the effort to learn toe it will pay great dividends in your health and workout." "Good exercise. Wonderful therapy for my hip injury. Great conditioning for the slopes. Only thing I might change would be to angle the foot platform a little to simulate the foot position you would be in on a ski slope. My kids love this too."
