No, literally, I'd never wondered about that building, but as it turned out, it is full of specialised doctors, one of whom owned that scanner. Nice, I could just throw my bath robe over my shoulder and walk there. Everybody was nice and the doctor explained everything in pretty much detail. When he found out, that I'm an engineering student, we talked a bit more about the inner workings of the beast that was going to scan my insides. Impressive field intensities, for sure! Anyway, when it came to lying down in that thing, my head was fixed into a mask containing a direction coil and as soon as my head entered between the two big "discs", my body kicked into panicking-need-to-gtfo-of-here-survival mode. They pulled me out as fast as they could and told me, the alternative would be to put an open coil around my head and not stabilize anything. And that that would probably fuck up the images. I agreed, went back in there (no problems this time without the restraints) and managed to keep my fucking head still enough for 22 minutes to get excellent results. Which were: No mechanical failure. That attack on Monday was the first Migraine-attack in my life and it was the real stuff, not the "oh honey no sex please" type of migraine.
