So here's the whole story (sorry it's a long one!) Some preliminary imformation: I'm a girl. My (ex)partner was a mtf transitioning transgender person. We started seeing each other in high school. (we're young) I consider myself straight. I loved the person, I would've learned to love the body. Sex was not an important part of our relationship. I knew of her gender-confusion before we started seeing each other. I fell in love, I couldn't help myself... For the purpose of this post, we'll call her June. I met June in the seventh grade, when she transferred to my school. She was very shy. I came to know of a crush she had on me. At first, I was nervous, and didn't really want a boyfriend at that time, so I avoided her! It wasn't until mid high school that I really got to know her! We started doing things together, she would watch me ride my horse that I was training, we would play guitar hero, we'd go on walks and talk about various things. (basically things that broke teenagers do) We started to develop an intimate relationship, mentally and physically. It took us a while to work up to sex, we were both so nervous, and June didn't feel completely comfortable with her genitals, so I tried to avoid making her un-comfortable. We just didn't do it very often... At first, I knew that June liked me as much as I liked her. Over the next four years, I would feel less sure, but i'd ignore it, telling myself that I needed to trust her, and that I was being paranoid. (June also told me this on multiple occasions when I expressed my fears and insecurities.) I have always been supportive of June's transition. I have been there when no one else was for her, when everybody else was doubtful of or criticizing her feelings. About six months ago, June finally came out, and it was great! I felt so proud of her! She had been trying to suppress these feelings for so long, and now she was finally moving forward! She started hormones about a month ago. Two weeks after she started hormones, she broke up with me. She woke me up in the morning, asked me if I trusted her to do what was best for her. I said yes, with a big smile. She then said that she needed to end our relationship, that I needed to give her my keys, get my things, and leave. I asked her why and she said that she wasn't going to tell me right then, and maybe she would later. I was devastated. She would later on confirm that she had decided to break up with me the day before, and that she hadn't planned to before then, but it was just "something she realized she needed to do". I packed my things and left that day. Over the next month I would go through a lot of emotions. I feel like I was thrown away. I feel worthless. I feel stupid. How could someone who I loved with everything I had, who I gave everything to, and supported 100% just so coldly throw everything that I had to offer away overnight? I loved and trusted June. I and I am worth nothing to her. I feel doubt that I will be able to ever fully trust someone. They could just decide to wake up one morning and flip my world upside down. It wasn't so much that June broke up with me, it was how she did it, and how she treated me afterward that hurts so much. I could go into detail, but she basically treated me like shit. On her facebook now she looks as if she is having a great time, like her life has never been better. I don't wish her ill, I just wish that I had meant enough for it to be upsetting for her to not have me anymore... There is so much more to tell you guys about our relationship, but I don't know what so say and what to leave out, please feel free to ask questions, I know that this one is confusing!!! TLDR: My now ex SO who I love and trusted broke my heart and is now having the time of their life. Tell me some happy stories to cheer me up? I know that I am young (20) and there is a lot of life ahead of me, but everything is just so grey right now. I'm looking for some hope! (and maybe a nice cowboy to talk to?! ; ).) more
